The Automatic Station announcement System is a GPS based Display unit, mounted on the railway coaches. This Micro controller based system collects the LON/LAT position of the train every one second through the GPS receiver and computes the distance of the next arriving station. When the train approaches the next Station (Stop) and is within the few KMs, the system will display the Next Approaching station, thus alerting the passengers to get prepared to get down.

This display will be mounted at wantage points on the coach for easy viewing. The
display will be multilingual, indicating the station names in English, Hindi and the Local
Language. The display will also flash messages and safety slogans in three languages between the stations. The display will be in multicolor to draw the attention of the passengers and also for quick reading. The display also comes with the PC based application S/W which helps the user to create, edit messages and station names in different languages. Various features of this automatic station are:
